AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers is set to miss the remainder of 2026 after choosing to undergo surgery on his right ankle. The Belgian suffered a sprain during training at Milanello on September 29, which subsequently compromised the stability of a surgical site from an operation he had in 2024 while at Roma.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Saelemaekers will be sidelined for more than three months and is not expected to return until the new year. Manager Ruben Amorim may turn to options like Alphadjo Cisse and Christian Pulisic to replace the winger until the January window.
