Andrea Cambiaso returned to action for Juventus in a central midfield role during a 1-0 friendly loss to Cremonese on Friday. The defender had been sidelined for over a month after suffering an ankle injury against Parma on August 29. Manager Luciano Spalletti tested Cambiaso in the center of the pitch due to a growing selection crisis at the club.
Juventus faces long-term midfield absences with Manuel Locatelli out for up to six months and Khephren Thuram sidelined until January. Additionally, injured winger Jeff Ekhator returned to on-field training at Continassa ahead of the upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari.
