The right deal, the right player, the right words: Mario Gila’s perfect start to life at Milan

Oliver Fisher highlights Mario Gila's rapid rise as a fan favorite at AC Milan following his summer arrival from Lazio. The 25-year-old Spanish center-back has adapted seamlessly to manager Ruben Amorim's system, becoming a key starter on the right side of the defense and delivering strong performances across his first six matches of the 2026-27 season.

Fisher praises the transfer business, noting Milan signed Gila to a five-year contract in a deal reported between €25m and €30m. In addition to his tactical contributions, Gila revealed at the Festival dello Sport that he chose Milan over rivals like Inter to help return the club to the top, while targeting a call-up to the Spain national team.
