Tresoldi: ‘An incredible night with hat-trick, spoke to both Italy and Germany’

Nicolo Tresoldi scored a hat-trick to lead Club Brugge to a 4-3 Champions League victory over Inter Milan at San Siro on October 13, 2026. The 22-year-old AC Milan supporter became only the second player after Gareth Bale to score a Champions League hat-trick away against Inter. Tresoldi described the match as an incredible, dream-like performance witnessed by his family and friends in attendance.

Following the match, Tresoldi addressed his international future, confirming he has held discussions with federations and managers representing both Germany and Italy. Although currently playing for Germany's Under-21 squad, the Italian-born forward stated he has not yet committed his senior international allegiance to either nation, remaining focused on his development and the upcoming European Under-21 Championship.
