⏩ The journey continues: Niko Kovac extends Borussia Dortmund deal to 2029

Borussia Dortmund has officially confirmed a contract extension for head coach Niko Kovac, securing his tenure until June 2029. The 54-year-old Croatian tactician had an existing deal expiring at the end of the current season before the club board agreed to a new long-term commitment. Kovac's assistant coaches, Robert Kovac and Filip Tapalovic, also signed extensions alongside him.

Kovac took charge at Dortmund in February 2025 with the team in eleventh place, successfully guiding them back into UEFA Champions League qualification. Managing Director of Sports Lars Ricken and the club's leadership chose to reward Kovac's stability and progress with the early renewal as the team prepares for their upcoming Champions League away fixture against FK Bodo/Glimt.
