Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany is expected to miss weeks rather than days after being hospitalized with a virus following his collapse in training on Friday. Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the 40-year-old manager remains in stable condition while medical examinations continue to determine the exact nature of his illness.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks will take charge of Bayern Munich for Sunday's Bundesliga clash against Freiburg. In addition to Kompany's absence, midfielder Joshua Kimmich will miss Sunday's fixture due to bereavement leave as Bayern aim to maintain their position atop the Bundesliga standings.
