Amanda Serrano defeated Lucrecia Manzur via majority decision at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, to earn her 50th professional win. Serrano retained her WBA and WBO featherweight titles in the first unified women’s bout fought over 12 two-minute rounds.
The seven-weight world champion faced a stern challenge from the outset. Manzur came forward aggressively and landed clean shots, most notably pressing the champion throughout the fourth round. Serrano adjusted her approach as the fight progressed, using targeted body work and sharp counter-punching to take control over the second half of the contest. Two judges scored the bout 116-112 for Serrano, while the third judge submitted a 114-114 scorecard. The victory pushes Serrano’s professional record to 50 wins, four losses, and one draw, including 32 knockouts across a career spanning nearly 18 years.
The milestone victory places Serrano alongside the all-time greats of modern boxing.
The Most Valuable Promotions card also featured significant results across multiple divisions. US Olympian Jahmal Harvey maintained his unbeaten record in the lightweight division by flattening Hammet Keb. A right hand from Harvey sent Keb to the canvas, prompting the referee to wave off the contest at 2:48 of the second round to move Harvey to 4-0 with three knockouts.
Elsewhere on the bill, Denmark’s Melissa Mortensen claimed the vacant WBA super bantamweight title despite facing severe adversity against Mayelli Flores. Flores floored Mortensen in the second round and troubled her again in the fifth. Mortensen rallied to earn a split decision, with two judges scoring the bout 95-94 in her favour and the third returning a 95-94 score for Flores.
Olympic bronze medalist Nelvie Tiafack continued his unbeaten start as a professional heavyweight, stopping Salvador Zavala 55 seconds into the third round to advance to 5-0. Avious Griffin moved to 20-1 with 19 knockouts after forcing Jackson Marinez to retire at the end of the fifth round, having floored Marinez twice before the bell. Meanwhile, Jocelyn Camarillo returned for the first time since her May bout against Isis Sio, defeating Ashley Felix via unanimous decision over six rounds with scores of 58-56, 59-55, and 60-54.
