Another damning story involving Billy Joe Saunders.

Former two-weight world champion Billy Joe Saunders received a 15-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, for his involvement in a violent brawl at a baby shower in November 2021. The incident took place at Poppy's Club in Bulkington, where Saunders was one of nine people involved in the clash and used a beer bottle as a weapon on three occasions.
Warwick Crown Court heard that the altercation escalated past midnight, leaving one man stabbed through the hand with a flick-knife. Judge Thomas Rochford noted Saunders's high level of involvement and his background as a professional boxer. Alongside the suspended sentence, Saunders must complete 200 hours of community service and pay £2,000 in costs and fines.
