Carlos Adames Signs With Zuffa Ahead Of WBC Deadline

WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames has officially signed with Zuffa Boxing, the promotion announced on X. The move adds another 160-pound titleholder to the company's roster, creating potential future internal clashes against fighters like Aaron McKenna and Denzel Bentley. However, Adames currently faces an October 20 WBC deadline to finalize a deal with mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov before purse bids are ordered.

While joining Zuffa positions Adames for possible unification bouts, several logistical hurdles remain. Bentley faces Shane Mosley Jr. on November 7 and must manage WBO mandatory challenger Yoenli Hernandez, while IBF titleholder McKenna also has upcoming obligations. Zuffa Boxing has not yet announced an official debut date or opponent for Adames.
