Christian Mbilli vs Canelo formally announced by Turki Alalshikh

Turki Alalshikh has officially announced that Christian Mbilli will defend his WBC super middleweight world title against Canelo Alvarez on October 31 in Riyadh. The 168-pound championship bout was originally scheduled for September 12 at the ANB Arena, but it was postponed after Canelo cited personal matters. The main event walk is scheduled to begin at 3:00 a.m. local time.

Canelo will be returning to the ring for the first time since losing his super middleweight belts to Terence Crawford. Mbilli, who was elevated to full WBC champion following Crawford's failure to pay sanction fees, previously fought to a split draw against Lester Martinez on the Crawford-Canelo undercard. Big Fight Weekend predicts Canelo will defeat Mbilli by unanimous decision.
