Conor Wallace has questioned the officiating in his recent loss to Ben Whittaker, claiming the referee hindered his ability to secure a stoppage. Speaking on talkSPORT's White and Jordan show, Wallace stated that Whittaker was allowed to hold excessively while hurt and argued that at least one or two falls should have been ruled as knockdowns rather than slips.
Wallace also acknowledged his own tactical mistakes, admitting he smothered his punches while attempting to finish the fight. Meanwhile, promoter Eddie Hearn and Whittaker have not committed to an immediate rematch, with Boxing News 24 noting that Hearn has suggested other possible opponents given Whittaker's status as an IBF mandatory challenger.
