World Boxing News reports that Dana White's Zuffa Boxing has reversed its initial stance by openly promoting the WBC name alongside newly signed middleweight champion Carlos Adames. White previously refused to work with boxing's traditional sanctioning bodies—the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO—stating an intention to build an independent championship structure.

According to Phil Jay, Zuffa Boxing previously avoided naming traditional organizations in promotional material throughout mid-2026 before shifting to a more conventional approach. In addition to Adames, Zuffa has signed WBO middleweight champion Denzel Bentley and featured an IBF title bout involving Aaron McKenna.
