Dave Allen says a 2027 clash with Andy Ruiz Jr is in the works for Sheffield, but Matchroom wants him in top shape before it is signed.

Heavyweight boxer Dave Allen has claimed that a fight against former unified world champion Andy Ruiz Jr. is in the works for next year. Allen stated that the bout would likely take place in Sheffield around March or April, following discussions with Matchroom Boxing's Frank Smith.
According to the report, Matchroom promotes both fighters and has demanded that the 34-year-old Allen prove his fitness before finalizing the contest. Allen currently holds a 27-9-2 professional record, while Ruiz recently ended an extended hiatus in September with a points loss to Damian Knyba.
