Eddie Hearn claims drug testing ‘wasn’t adhered to’ in Tyson Fury’s contract to fight Anthony Joshua

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has claimed that Tyson Fury started drug testing later than Anthony Joshua ahead of their heavyweight fight on December 11. Hearn clarified that he does not suggest any improper behavior occurred or blame the 38-year-old Fury. Instead, he pointed to differences in their confidential contracts, which obligated Joshua to enroll in testing earlier than his opponent.

Hearn explained that drug testing was supposed to begin when the original contracts were signed, but it did not start at the same time for Fury. The promoter highlighted these discrepancies to demonstrate the flaws in having separate contracts for the fighters, especially with American promotion company TKO also involved in the event.
