Erislandy Lara is set to defend his WBA middleweight title against Tim Tszyu in Australia. Lara, who has held the belt since 2021 with four successful defenses, brings a 32-3-3 record into the confirmed bout. Former WBO super welterweight champion Tszyu enters the fight on a three-fight winning streak.
Tszyu earned the title opportunity after defeating Errol Spence Jr. by unanimous decision in July under head trainer Jeff Fenech. A victory would allow Tszyu to become a two-division world champion, an achievement his father Kostya Tszyu never reached.
