Ex-world champion boxer Liam Smith charged with GBH after ‘attack on night concierge at fancy apartment block’

Former world champion boxer Liam Smith has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged attack on a concierge in Greater Manchester. The incident occurred on September 13 at The Blade apartment complex in Deansgate, where the worker reportedly suffered multiple facial fractures requiring surgery. Smith was arrested and subsequently appeared before Manchester Magistrates Court.

The 38-year-old fighter, who held the WBO super welterweight title from 2015 to 2016, is scheduled to appear at Manchester Crown Court on October 19. Smith had recently withdrawn from a planned comeback bout in Finland against Ilaru Kujala due to a calf injury.
