Dubois retained his WBO world heavyweight title with a brutal second-round stoppage of Wardley in London on Saturday night
Daniel Dubois retained his WBO world heavyweight title with a dominant second-round stoppage victory over Fabio Wardley in their rematch. Wardley landed only four punches out of 27 thrown, while Dubois landed 60 of 119 shots. Referee Steve Gray stopped the contest with 39 seconds left in round two just as Wardley's trainer Ben Davison threw in the towel.
Dubois dropped Wardley in the opening seconds of the fight and maintained continuous pressure throughout. The victory marks Dubois' first defense of the title he originally claimed from Wardley in May, positioning him for potential unification bouts or a matchup against the winner of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua fight.
