IBF heavyweight champion Filip Hrgovic has stated that a unification rematch against Daniel Dubois is his preferred next fight. Hrgovic previously suffered an eighth-round stoppage defeat against Dubois in June 2024. He expressed his desire to exact revenge and unify the titles rather than take other options.
Hrgovic won the vacant IBF title in August after securing a ninth-round stoppage against Moses Itauma. However, Hrgovic is expected to first fulfill a mandatory defense against Frank Sanchez, while WBO champion Dubois is scheduled to face Fabio Wardley in a rematch on October 17.
