Fight fans are eagerly awaiting news on the return of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, who is expected to make his comeback in early 2027 and now the Baltimore knockout artist has been called out for a clash for his old title.…

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya expressed readiness to match Floyd Schofield against Gervonta Davis so Davis can try to win back his former WBA lightweight title. Schofield claimed the vacant belt by defeating Lucas Bahdi via unanimous decision at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Saturday. Davis, who was stripped and named champion-in-recess earlier this year, holds the right to immediately challenge for the belt upon his expected comeback in early 2027.
Because Schofield won a vacant title, he cannot make a voluntary defense and must face a mandatory challenger. If Davis declines the fight amid rumors linking him to George Kambosos or Stephen Fulton, top-rated Jose Valenzuela is expected to step in instead.
