Bill Haney makes an appearance with Ring Magazine to share his perspective on a much-discussed fight between his son, Devin Haney, and Shakur Stevenson. During the segment Bill would explain how Shakur failed to follow through with making the fight…

Bill Haney criticized Shakur Stevenson following the collapse of fight negotiations with Devin Haney. Speaking with Ring Magazine, Bill Haney stated that Stevenson failed to step up despite being offered opportunities to fight at 135 and 147 pounds. He claimed their team did everything possible over months of talks, but negotiations were ultimately ended after Stevenson's camp reportedly requested excessive concessions.
According to Bill Haney, their camp agreed to drop to a 145-pound catchweight from the 147-pound welterweight limit to finalize the bout. However, Stevenson's team then demanded a rehydration clause without offering concessions in return. Following the breakdown of talks, Haney indicated they are shifting focus toward other opponents, specifically naming Liam Paro for a potential unification bout.
