‘I’m going to call a spade a spade’: Terence Crawford talks criticism of Boots Ennis

Retired boxer Terence Crawford has explained his recent social media criticism of Jaron 'Boots' Ennis during an appearance on Ring Champs. Crawford stated that his online interactions were not a call-out but rather an attempt to prove that Ennis is actively avoiding a matchup with Vergil Ortiz. Crawford maintains that he remains happily retired and is not motivated to return to the ring.

Crawford criticized Ennis for suggesting Josh Kelly is the most skillful fighter at 154 pounds, calling the claim a lie to build up his upcoming opponent. He pointed out that Kelly was previously stopped by David Avanesyan, whom Crawford later knocked out. Crawford argued that Ennis is avoiding top challenges while claiming to only be hunting for championship belts.
