Jack Catterall has announced he is ready to fight as the October 22 deadline approaches for negotiations regarding his ordered WBA welterweight title bout against Teofimo Lopez. The British southpaw posted his message on social media while tagging DAZN Boxing. The deadline marks the conclusion of the official discussion window established by the sanctioning body.
Lopez's team has sought special permission to pursue a potential unification bout against Ryan Garcia for early 2027 instead of the mandatory defense. Catterall earned his mandatory position after winning the WBA regular title against Shakhram Giyasov in May.
