The Story in 60 Seconds

Ike Ibeabuchi returned to professional boxing after 26 years away, suffering his first career loss before seeing a planned pay-per-view bout against Oliver McCall collapse. The 53-year-old former contender made a winning return in August 2025 by defeating Idris Afinni, but lost his unbeaten record on Christmas Eve 2025 to 45-year-old cruiserweight Kabiru Towolawi in Lagos.

A subsequent fight against the 61-year-old McCall was scheduled for November 26, 2026, by Prizefighting.tv. However, the event was officially canceled on October 5 after advance subscriptions failed to hit the mandatory 12,500 target at $9.95 each, costing both fighters a vital payday.
