DAZN is positioning to purchase The Ring magazine from Saudi Arabia boxing financier Turki Alalshikh, three boxing officials have told BoxingScene, confirming an earlier Thursday report and spotlighting whether the power broker is moving to divest himself from the sport.

Turki Alalshikh is reportedly moving to sell his controlling interest in The Ring to streaming platform DAZN, according to industry sources. The development follows a report from Total Boxing indicating an agreement is in place. Alalshikh recently voiced serious health concerns at a London press conference for the Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight, indicating his time in the sport could soon be coming to an end.
Alalshikh originally acquired The Ring from Oscar De La Hoya in November 2024 for a reported $10 million. While DAZN declined to comment on the transaction, an official close to De La Hoya confirmed the former owner has no interest in repurchasing the publication.
