Oscar De La Hoya teases big fights for Floyd Schofield after Bahdi win

Oscar De La Hoya has teased major bouts for Floyd Schofield after the 24-year-old defeated Lucas Bahdi to claim the WBA lightweight world championship on October 10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Schofield secured the title via unanimous decision with judges' scores of 119-108, 116-110, and 115-111, advancing his undefeated professional record to 20-0.

Following the victory, Golden Boy Promotions CEO De La Hoya identified William Zepeda as a prime matchup and expressed interest in organizing a fight against Gervonta Davis should Davis return. Big Fight Weekend argues that holding a world title will significantly assist Schofield and his team in securing high-profile mandatory challengers and unification bouts.
