O’Shaquie Foster has picked Shakur Stevenson to defeat Gary Antuanne Russell in a potential bout, describing Russell as "stiff as hell." Speaking to Fighthype, Foster explained that having watched the pair spar years ago, he believes Stevenson would be able to read Russell's attacks and capitalize on his predictable upper-body movement and approach.
While Russell remains in the discussion for Stevenson's first fight under Zuffa Boxing, Boxing News 24 notes other candidates such as Raymond Muratalla and Jose Valenzuela. The outlet analyzes that Russell would require varied feints and body attacks rather than straight-line pressure to overcome Stevenson.
