Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi has strongly criticized a proposed bout between Manny Pacquiao and Shakur Stevenson. The matchup is reportedly being targeted for the undercard of the December 11 Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua event at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Malignaggi argued on his YouTube channel that the potential contest represents a "click bait" event that has no place in big-time boxing.
The proposed fight would mark Stevenson's debut under Dana White's Zuffa Boxing following his victory over Teofimo Lopez in January. Meanwhile, the 47-year-old Pacquiao last fought to a draw against Mario Barrios in July 2025, with Malignaggi warning that facing Stevenson presents a vastly different challenge.
