Trainer Robert Garcia stated that four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson would be making a mistake by fighting Manny Pacquiao. Reports indicate that Stevenson and the 47-year-old Pacquiao could face each other on the undercard of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua event, which is expected to take place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff on December 11.
Speaking to ProBox TV, Garcia praised Stevenson as a top pound-for-pound fighter and suggested he should pursue tougher challenges in his division. Stevenson, who holds the WBO title at 140 pounds after defeating Teofimo Lopez in January, was advised to consider alternatives such as Gary Antuanne Russell or Raymond Muratalla instead.
