Jack Catterall has called out Teofimo Lopez to defend his WBA welterweight world title on the undercard of the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua event. The card is scheduled to take place on December 11 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. The WBA ordered Lopez to face Catterall, giving both sides until October 22 to finalize an agreement before a purse bid hearing is called.
Lopez recently earned a majority decision win against Rolando Romero to claim the title, though journalist Dan Rafael reported that Lopez is considering vacating the belt for other opportunities. Catterall offered to fight in Cardiff or travel to the United States for the matchup.
