Former champion Tim Bradley publicly criticized Shakur Stevenson for pursuing a potential bout against 47-year-old Manny Pacquiao. The proposed matchup is being targeted as a co-feature attraction on the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua card in Cardiff. Bradley described the prospective fight as downgrading boxing and argued that Stevenson should focus on competing against prime contenders rather than aging veterans.
Stevenson currently holds the WBO light welterweight title after defeating Teofimo Lopez in January. The WBO has not officially approved the proposed catchweight bout or granted an exception, and bout agreements have not yet been delivered.
