Turki Alalshikh reportedly selling control of Ring Magazine to DAZN

Turki Alalshikh is reportedly planning to sell, or has already sold, a controlling interest in Ring Magazine to streaming platform DAZN, according to reports from Tris Dixon and Lance Pugmire. The parties involved have not yet released official statements regarding the potential transaction. Alalshikh previously acquired the long-running publication from Oscar De La Hoya in late 2024.

Patrick Stumberg of Bad Left Hook argues that the publication failed to meet its initial promises of editorial independence during Alalshikh's tenure. Stumberg also expresses concern over DAZN acquiring the outlet, arguing that placing a major boxing publication under the control of a dominant broadcaster could compromise independent journalism.
