Cameron Green has taken a step forward in his recovery but the Western Australian remains in significant doubt to feature in the second Test against South Africa in Gqeberha beginning on Sunday.
Cameron Green remains in serious doubt for Australia's second Test against South Africa in Gqeberha despite progressing in his recovery from a soft-tissue injury. Head coach Andrew McDonald confirmed Green has started running but has yet to resume batting following an injury sustained from a full toss in an ODI. Additionally, a lingering shoulder issue will prevent Green from bowling even if cleared to play.
Following Australia's 214-run victory in the Durban opener, McDonald also addressed the batting order, leaving Matthew Renshaw's position undecided. After batting at No. 5 due to his strength against spin, Renshaw's role remains flexible alongside Nic Maddinson as selectors assess pitch conditions. Reserve wicketkeeper Josh Inglis also continues his recovery from a broken finger.
