Mumbai opener and vice-captain Ayush Mhatre is expected to miss the remainder of the domestic season after undergoing surgery for a Grade 4 right hamstring tear. The 19-year-old suffered the injury while batting on 48 during Mumbai's Ranji Trophy opener against Chandigarh. Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala performed the 90-minute procedure at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, with Mhatre facing an estimated four-month recovery timeline.

Mhatre's injury also rules him out of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy scheduled for December.
