MS Dhoni says he will undergo medical tests and make a decision on playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2027 before December 2026.
MS Dhoni announced he will decide whether to play for Chennai Super Kings in the 2027 Indian Premier League before December 2026. Speaking at a healthcare event in Bengaluru on October 24, 2026, the 45-year-old former Indian captain explained that his ultimate choice will depend directly on upcoming medical assessments and physical tests.
Dhoni missed the entirety of the 2026 IPL season due to a calf injury and fitness concerns. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that the choice to return rests solely with Dhoni, whose comeback would mark his return after a full season away.
