Wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel has returned to Bengal's senior men's squad for upcoming practice matches against Assam in Guwahati ahead of the 2026 Ranji Trophy season. The Cricket Association of Bengal announced the team on Tuesday, appointing Sudip Chatterjee as captain. The squad will travel from Kolkata on September 30.
Porel's selection comes shortly after he received bail on September 18 following his August 11 arrest over allegations including rape and sexual offenses. The Delhi Capitals player had spent over a month in custody after denying all accusations filed by a medical student.
