Vics young gun returns to domestic cricket with his sights set on a much-improved Shield season

Victorian batter Ollie Peake is targeting consistency in the Sheffield Shield after returning from Australian one-day duties. Batting at number four on day one of Victoria's season opener at Junction Oval, the 20-year-old scored 32 runs before being bowled by Henry Thornton.
Peake acknowledged that he is not currently in line for Test selection following a modest previous Shield season where he averaged 23.07. After making his ODI debut earlier this year, he aims to improve his domestic form and avoid the emotional ups and downs of last season.
