Boland's glowing performance strengthens his selection case for Cape Town decider…

Scott Boland has presented Australian selectors with a difficult selection dilemma ahead of the series decider in Cape Town following an impressive all-round display in Gqeberha. Boland took five wickets and faced 166 balls across two innings as a nightwatchman during Australia's innings-and-31-run defeat to South Africa at St George's Park.
Australia must now decide whether to retain Boland alongside Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, or bring back spinner Nathan Lyon. Cummins praised Boland's gritty performance, acknowledging the 37-year-old bowler could hardly have done more to demand inclusion for the final Test at Newlands.
