Australia in firm control of the series-deciding third Test thanks to Nathan Lyon's classic off-break in the final minutes of day three…

Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon took late wickets on day three at Newlands to put Australia in control of the series-deciding third Test against South Africa. Late strikes removing Marques Ackerman for 62 and Temba Bavuma left the Proteas holding a precarious 40-run lead at stumps. Earlier, Australia posted 429 in their first innings to secure a 100-run lead, spearheaded by Josh Inglis' century.
Inglis scored 102 off 135 balls, accompanied by Alex Carey's steady 80, before spinner Simon Harmer removed both batters. Starc then claimed his eighth wicket of the match by dismissing Ackerman, while Lyon bowled Bavuma on a deteriorating pitch.
