NSW open campaign with thumping bonus-point win

New South Wales earned a dominant bonus-point victory over Queensland in their 2026-27 Women's National Cricket League opener. Chasing a target of 168, NSW reached the total with 25 overs to spare following a 124-run opening stand between Phoebe Litchfield and Emma Manix-Geeves. Litchfield led the scoring with 68 off 56 balls, while Manix-Geeves added 51.

Earlier, Queensland batted first and were dismissed for 167 despite Georgia Voll scoring 83. NSW spinner Sam Bates claimed a five-wicket haul to spark a major collapse after Queensland had reached 1-97. Queensland debutant Aya Kato-Stafford took four wickets to avert a ten-wicket defeat, including the dismissals of Litchfield and Ellyse Perry.
