Gabe Bell was the hero for the Tigers with six second innings wickets, including the final two of the match…

Tasmania defeated Victoria by just four runs in a dramatic Sheffield Shield clash at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Chasing a target of 271, Victoria were bowled out for 266 as paceman Gabe Bell claimed 6-72, including the final wicket of Harry Hoekstra edging behind. The victory marks Tasmania's first win of the season and made them the only team in the competition's 134-year history to win by exactly four runs.
Victoria mounted a resilient fightback through Liam Blackford, who scored 80, and Fergus O'Neill, who contributed 53, combining for an 81-run eighth-wicket partnership. However, Marcus Bean dismissed both key contributors before Bell closed out the innings. Ben McDermott was named player of the match after scoring a crucial first-innings 128 to recover Tasmania from 7-45 on the opening day.
