Australia Test captain Pat Cummins and fellow fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will be rested for the upcoming white-ball matches against England. The trio was omitted from the squads for the three ODIs and five T20Is to preserve fitness ahead of a demanding schedule of 10 Tests over 14 weeks, which includes series against New Zealand and India.
Key players including Travis Head and Cameron Green will also have their workloads managed during the T20 series. The rotated squads feature opportunities for younger talent, with fast bowler Mahli Beardman set for an ODI debut, Jack Edwards earning spots in both formats, and batter Lachlan Shaw receiving his first T20 call-up.
