India's preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games have been hit by coaching disputes, court challenges, and administrative clearance delays. On Monday, nine of India's 13 selected para shooters met Sports Authority of India officials to express concern over the omission of chief coach J P Nautiyal and assistant coach Shivam Tyagi. Athletes including Manish Narwal, Mona Agarwal, and Bhakti Sharma urged officials to reconsider the decision ahead of the competition.
Administrative delays have also disrupted travel plans, kit distribution, and preparations across several sports. While the sports ministry cleared pending contingents late Monday, five badminton players were reportedly not sanctioned, and five cyclists have approached the Delhi High Court over their exclusion.
