The most astonishing part of the quadruple hundred was the 189-run stand Chinmay built with Mizoram No 11 Lalrempuia Chhakchhuak, even as the 400-figure dangled on the horizon

Mizoram batsman Chinmay Sutar scored an unbeaten 400 against Nagaland in the Ranji Plate Division at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Sovima on Monday. The 29-year-old southpaw, who is the son of former Mumbai batsman Rajesh Sutar, became only the second Indian cricketer to record a quadruple century in first-class domestic cricket after B.B. Nimbalkar in 1948-49.
Sutar shared an unbroken 189-run 10th-wicket stand with tailender Lalrempuia Chhakchhuak, who contributed 14 runs across 76 balls. Sutar faced 517 deliveries in total, hitting 46 boundaries and seven sixes before Mizoram declared their first innings at 581/9, leaving opponents Nagaland trailing by 531 runs.
