Bublik switched allegiance in 2016, while Rybakina joined in 2018 under the backing of Kazakhstan Tennis Federation president Bulat Utemuratov. Their international achievements, including Rybakina reaching women's world No. 1 and securing major titles, have provided Kazakhstan with recognizable sporting heroes.

The federation paired foreign recruitment with significant domestic investment, expanding from 60 tennis courts in 2007 to 412 today. According to vice-president Dias Doskarayev, over 25,000 children now play regularly, with more than 1,000 fully funded.
