"I kept thinking about what my mistake was," Mishra recalled…

Former Indian cricketer Amit Mishra revealed in an interview with Aakash Chopra that he suffered from depression for a year and a half after being dropped from the national team following his 2003 debut. The leg-spinner subsequently lost his form and was excluded from domestic setups, including the Duleep Trophy and India A squads.
Mishra explained that an honest conversation with a selector helped him understand the need to focus on domestic performances rather than just playing for India. He eventually earned a recall to the national side in 2008, going on to feature in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs, and 10 T20Is across his international career.
