Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in their one-day international tri-series match on Tuesday, officially ending England's hopes of reaching the final. Fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka produced a career-best five wickets for 34 runs after Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and elected to field. Madushanka's spell helped dismiss Pakistan for just 110 runs.
Sri Lanka chased down the 111-run target with more than 31 overs to spare, qualifying for Saturday's final against Pakistan. Kamindu Mendis led the chase with an unbeaten 62 off 60 balls, hitting eight fours and two sixes. Sri Lanka will now face England in a dead-rubber match on Thursday at the Gaddafi Stadium.
