Former India head coach voices humanitarian concerns over jailed Pakistan cricket legend's conditions.
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has voiced serious concern over the treatment of former Pakistan captain Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. Speaking to Republic World, Shastri labeled the conditions shocking and emphasized that his appeal for better treatment is strictly humanitarian rather than political. He stated that no human being should be subjected to such treatment.
Khan has been detained since 2023, with reports alleging deteriorating health and inadequate medical care. Shastri's remarks follow wider international appeals, including a letter sent by 21 former captains to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urging proper medical attention for the 1992 World Cup-winning captain.
