“Stay silent”: Usman Tariq shares cryptic Instagram story after Pakistan T20I snub

Pakistan mystery spinner Usman Tariq shared a cryptic message on Instagram regarding ego and staying silent after being omitted from Pakistan's squad for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Tariq was replaced in the squad by spinner Sufiyan Muqeem as the Pakistan Cricket Board introduced several changes to its white-ball lineup, appointing Sahibzada Farhan as T20I captain for the three-match series starting October 9, 2026, in Rawalpindi.

Tariq has taken 18 wickets in eight T20Is at an average of 11.17 since debuting in November 2025. Other notable squad omissions include Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Ali Agha, and Usman Khan, while Babar Azam and Naseem Shah made their returns.
