Laxmi Ratan Shukla named batting coach of Rest of India for Irani Cup

Bengal head coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla has been appointed batting coach of the Rest of India team for the Irani Cup fixture against Jammu and Kashmir. The five-day match is scheduled to take place in Srinagar from October 1 to 5, 2026, marking Shukla's first coaching assignment under the BCCI.

Shukla, who played three ODIs for India and previously captained Bengal, enters the role after Jammu and Kashmir eliminated his Bengal team in the Ranji Trophy semifinals. Former India fast bowler Debasish Mohanty has also been named bowling coach for the Rest of India squad.
