Former cricketers and administrators blend praised by Nadeem, who backs Suthar and a joint-cricketer leadership for Indian cricket.

Former India cricketer Shahbaz Nadeem believes a balanced mix of former players and administrators is ideal for managing cricket effectively. Speaking during a rain-hit Ranji Trophy match between Jharkhand and Delhi, Nadeem discussed his transition into administration. The 37-year-old, who retired in 2024, currently serves as joint-secretary of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) after being elected in May of the previous year.
Nadeem noted that playing experience gives administrators direct insight into player welfare and the power to implement positive changes. Beyond his administrative duties, the former left-arm spinner also praised young spinner Manav Suthar, calling him a proper left-arm spinner and an ideal candidate for long-term investment.
